Description

Offered is this lovely silver-plated serving spoon patented in 1936 by Oneida Community Plate. This pierced or reticulated pattern is called Coronation. This pattern was introduced to commemorate the coronation of Edward VIII of England, but because of his abdication to marry his American mistress, Wallace Simpson, the event never took place. Nevertheless, this was one of Oneida Community’s most successful patterns in the U.S. -- and in England and Canada The design features a ribbed handle tipped with a flower-and-foliage pattern, then crowned with a rectangular cap. The large serving spoon measures 8.5 inches long. Very good used condition. In separate listings, we will be offering more items from this pattern. Domestic shipping is free. Item will be insured. Questions welcomed. Thanks for looking. Sorry, no returns. All items sold “as found.”
