Description

‘Have nothing in your houses that you do not consider to be beautiful or useful.’ William Morris 2 French Antique Boxed Silverplated Large Serving Spoons 1880’s A pair of large size silverplated serving spoons created in the 1880’s by Armand Frénais, a Parisian silversmith with a shop at 65 Blvd Richard Lenoir in Paris between 1877 and 1927. The identical fan styled bowls measure 3 ¼ inches by 3 1/8 inches. Interestingly the handles are different – one is styled with an Empire design front and back, while the other has a very classical styling on the front and a ribboned cameo on the back. Spoons were monogrammed on the back – these are blank- and presented bowl down on a table. One measures 9 ¼ inches long and the other is 9 inches long. Both are in very good condition and come in their original fitted storage box that is clean and closes well. Please read before purchasing Vintage and antique objects have lived and been used and because of that, they sometimes show it. The condition of the object is described as accurately as possible, including its character flaws. But that is really part of the attraction and enjoyment of an old piece.
