Description
1 Large Table Place Oval Serving Spoon Rocaille Sherchenko Ukraine Rococo USSR 8 1/4". These are the largest of the spoons we have up for sale. The numbers at the end 4-00 are the price and it means 4 Rubles 00 Kopeks. USSR This is a common silverware design called Rocaille or Rococo from the Soviet Union. It is quite ornate with plumes and scrolls. This type of silverware design would be found in the fine china/dinnerware sections of Russia's department stores. I would guess 1970's or so. МНЦЦ1-50 means copper-nickel-zinc alloy or Melchoir. Similar to silverplate but not as high of quality I don't think. ЗiШ in the oval is a factory brand : Volnyansk Factory named after Shevchenko. This factory is located in Volnyansk, Ukraine. These pieces are in used condition with the usual estate wear. WORN and wear to the silver metal and some nicks/scratches etc. Needs polishing. We have more up for sale in separate auctions. Shelf 13.
